As we move away from Yeats (for now), I want to recommend Helen Vendler’s book Our Secret Discipline: Yeats and Lyric Form. Vendler brings exceptional attention to the poems and reading her has deepened my own understanding and appreciation. This book will be valuable to anyone who wants to read Yeats more deeply.
